Flexible heaters are single-layer flexible circuits with conductive channels made of resistive alloys like Inconel and Cupro-Nickel rather than copper. Based on the supply voltage, the conductor width and thickness are chosen to deliver the desired resistance value. Heat is produced when electrical current is passed through greater resistance conductors.
Their self-regulation not only helps them to provide a more consistent heat to the heating surface, but it also allows them to run open loop without external controls, resulting in fewer field problems, more safety, and lower warming elements.
